Ricky Eugene Corbin went to be with his Lord and Savior at 9:09 A.M. on January 28, 2025, at home, where he left peacefully.
Ricky was born to the late William (Bill) and Janice Arleen (Speakman) Corbin on May 30, 1956. He married his school sweetheart, and “the love of his life”, Angela Leola Bowman on May 23, 1976, and she survives in Forest. Their marriage of 49 years was a great testimony of their Christian Faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Janice Corbin.
Surviving are three children; Chelsea (Josh) Reed, Shekinah (Ty) Traxler and Conrad (Ashley) Corbin, 6 grandchildren; Kydin, Keelend, Kinzlynn Reed, Lawson Traxler, Elijah, and Isaac Corbin, 5 siblings, Kim (Hellinger) Corbin, Randy Corbin, Rhonda (Sherwood) Corbin, Alan Corbin, and Susan (Cobb) Corbin.
Ricky worked hard all of his life bailing hay on the Holland Farm with his brothers, working at Born’s Tires in Kenton, delivering feed for the Kenton and Marion Landmarks, a builder of pole barns and trusses at Morton Building in Kenton, a (CDL) school bus driver for Simon Kenton and a driver for Hardin County senior citizens. He worked at Honda of America, being selected for the design team for the Element Auto in Marysville. He was a (W.H.B.I.) certified minister of the gospel with Rick and Angela names being published in 3 books, the National 1001 winners of their home, History of Linage in Library of Congress. Photos of their family historical 1884 Homestead a Century Farm in Ohio. Published by the Department of Agriculture of Ohio.
Ricky loved sports, believing in the “spirit of excellence” pee wee baseball, Kenton track and football, punt pass and kick winner, but most of all was the love of horses. He was a true cowboy of speed events; Pole Bending, Down and Back and Barrels, starting on ponies at the age of 8 years old to his adulthood being a self-taught trainer. Competing against the time clock to the top in tristate, central state, OCEA, OWHA, winning (hi-point up) to the National Quarter Horse Congress top ten. Best of the best cowboys and cowgirls. Shekinah 7th place Pole Bending, and Rick in 9th in Barrels. He loved that so, yeh haw cowgirl.
He never got lost driving, so he loved to travel, taking family to historical places of learning and celebrating God’s creations. Riding horseback in the Rockies State Park seeing the Great Divide was tops, along with anniversaries in Israel, Aruba and San Juan.
“Moments in time” Rick loved life with family, friends and strangers. Praying, sharing, reading the word in the bible, studies, seeing people to come to know Jesus and witnessing healings.
Ricky was a great father, grandfather, husband, and friend. Sharing and coloring this world wherever he went. Just passing through, he would say…Just be real!
Funeral services for Rick will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the Central Church of Christ with Pastor Ken Drumm officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the Church. The church is located at 815 E. Columbus Street in Kenton.
